National Poetry Month Contest

April is National Poetry Month and Proper Publishing is proud to host the 2nd annual student poetry contest. There is no theme for April's contest. We want to see creativity, unique style, form exploration, and a true appreciation for the power of words.
Unfortunately, we often see entire class packets submitted with the same topic, style, form, prompt, etc. Our goal is to encourage growth as well as individual artistic expression. Please allow your students to explore the art of words in their own way.

-Submission Guidelines-
Submissions will be accepted from April 1 to April 30, 2020. Notifications will go out within 4-weeks from the April 30th deadline. The publication date is tentatively set between June and July.  Students chosen by Mrs. Lewis will be published in an anthology available on Amazon Worldwide and Kindle Worldwide. They will also receive a free copy of the book.
Submissions written in the body of the email or missing contact information will be deleted. Handwritten submissions will not be accepted. Submissions by post must be printed on standard, white copy paper, black printer ink. DO NOT PUT NAME ON SUBMISSION. Colored paper, special font, and drawings will not be accepted. With each entry, include one entry form with ALL information is correct and printed in a clean, legible script. Entry form information is included below submission guidelines.
Submissions will be accepted via email and post. If emailing submission, ensure submission and entry form are two separate documents (word doc or PDF only) in ONE email. If sending submission via post, ensure each entry form is stapled/paper clipped to its accompanying entry.

Include with each entry.  PRINT VERY CLEARLY!
